Family Photos October 2012

We had our pictures taken by my incredibly talented cousin Alyssa. She is so talented and in high demand, so much so that she has decided to discontinue her family photography and she is doing only commercial photography right now. We were lucky to get in when we did.

We had a hard time picking a location and although I love our location, I'm not sure we had the best lighting but we didn't have time to move our positions because our light was going so fast. We got some pretty good pictures though.

Kira and I were pregnant and decided to announce it at our photo shoot. We had arranged beforehand to have Alyssa say, towards the end of the big family shoot, "Everyone say: Alicia is pregnant" and get the reactions. Not many people reacted too well- they thought she was kidding. Either that, or they weren't that excited. The next shot, Alyssa said "Everyone say: Kira is pregnant!". By then, everyone else thought we really were kidding. My dad even said "Next she will say Katrina is pregnant". It didn't turn out as well as I hoped, but Alyssa was able to get a few candid shots after we had broken up of when my parents realized we were really serious. Devin had to say something about how no seemed to be that excited. That was when my parents said, are you serious?! Ha ha, oh well. I guess they knew we had been thinking about getting pregnant but they didn't know Kira and Devin had been thinking the same thing.
