Our Christmas Letter 2014

Merry Christmas!

Hello friends and family, I hope this letter finds you healthy and happy. We have enjoyed all the Christmas cards and letters we have received so far and we look forward to them every year. I wanted to send out a little family update to say hi in return.

Koby is busy working, working, working! He spends most of his time working with Oldham Technology, mostly developing software programs for other companies and some computer/ phone support. He really enjoys what he does. When he isn’t busy working, he is at home with the family. He is serving his 3rd year as Cub Scout Master and he recruited Brigg to sing in the church choir. A highlight of this year was several canyoneering trips to Zions.

I am busy keeping up with the kids, cleaning, driving kids around, feeding kids, maintaining a house and cleaning again. The work is never done. I try and read a book at some point as well. I was recently made 2nd counselor (after being secretary) of our local church Relief Society (women’s organization) and I love getting to know the ladies better.  I don’t feel like I have many hobbies right now, or time to do any. I love to talk and do things with friends and get out of the house.

Brigg is 9, almost 10, and starting to be interested in more things. He plays soccer, is currently learning to play basketball, has joined the church and school choirs, is on a school knowledge bowl team, enjoys scouts and will be taking ski lessons. Brigg  is always playing Legos, reading books or teasing his sisters. He loves to play with friends and is doing well in 4th grade. He successfully completed a year of no sugar at the end of August and received $365 (a dollar a day). We were all impressed he succeeded in such a hard endeavor.

Kallie just turned 7 and is in 1st grade. She is learning Portuguese in her Portuguese Immersion class and says things we don’t understand. She really likes school and playing with friends. She started gymnastics this year and loves it. She also loves soccer, playing with Legos, candy, her baby sister, teasing her siblings and swimming.

Maren, 5, is loving Kindergarten after being moved from an all boy table to a girl table, which is hard after there are only 6 other girls in her class. She is developing a silly side to her personality. She is still our pickiest eater but hit a huge breakthrough after eating a chicken nugget this year! She is a great reader, loves to do homework, play soccer, loves everything girly, likes to draw, and snuggle with her mom and dad.

Tessa is 1 ½ and is a very active girl. She doesn’t like to sit still for too long unless it is watching a show snuggled in a blanket. She is very good at making lots of messes, climbing the bunk bed, sleeping (good at going to sleep and staying asleep, even though she takes a short nap), and destroying things. She is rarely seen without her binky which will make a rough day when that attachment will need to end.  She is loved by all her family members and her giggles bring so much joy.

We are so thankful for all our friends and family. We welcome all visitors and we hope you will call or stop by. We are grateful for this season to celebrate our Savior’s birth and life. We know He lives and loves you. Merry Christmas!!

Love, Koby, Alicia, Brigg, Kallie, Maren and Tessa.
