I'm still prego. That is a good thing, for now. Ask me in a few months and I will probably be wishing I had the baby already. I can't say I am excited to be big prego during the hot summer months. I figure I had it coming though when I jinxed myself saying that I never wanted to be big prego during the summer.
I went to my doctor's appointment several weeks ago and the doctor moved my due date from Aug. 11th to Aug 13th. It was supposed to be the 13th the entire time but the nurses got the wrong date by looking at the wheel wrong. I knew it but I didn't correct them because I thought it was fun that my due date landed on Koby's birthday. However, the good news is that the ultrasound put my due date at Aug. 4th. That is nine whole days earlier. A day is a day and I will take that. I'm also measuring bigger by a week or two. All of this means I am hoping I will have a baby earlier than the 13th. Since I have a irregularly (heart) shaped uterus, I am also likely to go into labor early. Someone forgot to tell this to Kallie when she went over the due date by 10 days. Anyhow, I have hope. I am not hoping for any kind of c-section or induction so I know I will just have to be patient and wait for the baby to decide to come.
I'm generally feeling pretty good although I feel huge.
I know I don't look huge and some people still didn't know I am pregnant (hello, how can you not see the tummy!) but I definitely feel big. I get winded just going up a flight of stairs, I'm tired and I don't want to do too much walking/ bending all at one time, I hate picking things up off the floor cuz I feel like my innards are being squished to mush, and none of my clothes fit well (and I am talking about the maternity ones even).
The other pregnancy symptom that I could do without is my RLS or restless leg syndrome. I hate it! It hits with a vengeance every night when I am falling asleep. My legs just won't stay still even though I am exhausted and falling asleep. It keeps me awake. Also, my hip and back give me problems every so often. Just ordinary pregnancy stuff but a pain (ha ha) to live with.
Oh, that perioral dermatitis could go too. It suddenly showed up on my chin and wouldn't go away. I guess my face is getting back at me for having an acne-free teenagehood. The dermatologist that I went to said that pregnant women tend to get it and that it is hormonal. I haven't found anything that says it is hormonal, but the symptoms are the same- a rash that can spread (which it has slowly been doing) around the mouth and sometimes to the nose and eye areas, heaven forbid. He said that he could give me a prescription that would take it away in a few days..... except you can't be pregnant or nursing. Since I will be pregnant or nursing for another year and half, I guess I am stuck with this rash. I'm trying other methods to get rid of it including tea tree oil. Koby LOVES the smell of that one. :)
The other things I have been experiencing a little earlier than previous pregnancies are braxton hicks (I've been having them since week 15 and I get them multiple times a day) and also feeling like I am starving, eating a little bit, then feeling sick because I feel so full.
Pregnancy is interesting because every pregnancy is different. I know I am very lucky to have such good pregnancies and really I'm not complaining. I'm pretty used to all the things I'm experiencing but it always reminds me that I really am pregnant. There is a reason why my body is not feeling "normal". I'm fine right now with my body being the babysitter and not having to worry about feeding and taking care of another baby just quite yet. :)

I hate RLS when I'm pregnant, it made sitting in church a nightmare! You are such a cute preggers! I wish I stayed skinny like you.
ReplyDeleteYou look great!!!!! I love your pregnancy updates!! Keep them comin'!!
ReplyDeleteMy sister had RLS when she was pregnant. She would put strong soap (like dial not dove) between the mattress and the fitted sheet down by her feet. It worked perfectly. She said they even discussed it in her husband's med school class. I know it sounds crazy, but she swears by it.
ReplyDeleteAmanda, I'm totally trying that strong soap trick. It does sound crazy but I'll try anything. I'll let you know if it works. :)
