Maren

Maren is such a GOOD baby, such a sweet little girl. I think Heavenly Father knew I needed an easy, good baby with the craziness that surrounded her birth. She has been growing like crazy, chunking up, sleeping well. She is now at the higher end of percentages in both weight (11.5 lbs) and height (23 in?) which is great considering she was in the lower half when she was born. And, SHE SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! I can't tell you how wonderful that is. Even though I couldn't sleep on my own very well for the first 2 months of her life, at least I didnt have to stress about Maren not letting me sleep as well. She started sleeping through the night a little before 6 weeks old. The last week she started sleeping from 10pm to 6 pm. The last two nights she sleept 11 hours!!! I've never had a baby that has done that! Not even when they were many months old. I'm am truly extremely blessed. Also, she goes to sleep for naps (when she is really tired) and at night by just putting her in her bed. No pacing the floor or rocking to get her to sleep. Heaven I tell you.


Another funny thing is that she sucks her thumb. I haven't had a thumb sucker before. She now prefers that and rarely takes her binky anymore. I don't know how to feel about that yet since it is unfamiliar territory- I don't know how to wean a child from her own thumb. I have to say it is adorable though. It is the cutest thing watching her sleep while sucking her thumb. I think that is why she sleeps better too.

Maren's hair has thinned out since birth but she still has it. I'm hoping she keeps her hair. I haven't had a child that completely kept their hair. Brigg's hair grew in really fast after he lost his hair but Kallie has been very bald and just until recently, I couldn't even get it in a ponytail. It would be nice to have a girl with hair before she is 1.

What else can I say about Maren? She is adorable and smiles more. I feel bad because I can definitely see how the 3rd child gets neglected some. I don't get to sit and talk to her like I did the others. Life is so busy! She also lives in her car seat more since i have to run the other kids places and it takes twice as long to run errands.

Maren was blessed on September 27th. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful blessing! Koby did a wonderful job. One thing that stuck out to me was that she was loved by her Heavenly Mother. Very interesting because I don't often think of Heavenly Mother but I sure did with the end of this pregnancy. Koby didn't even know that I had been thinking this. Maren is a loved and beautiful girl!

Unfortunately we didn't get any really good pictures of Maren's dress. Her extremely talented grandma Nina made it. It was beautiful!
