Thank you to all who responded to my last post. It was great to hear your take on it all. I realize I'm not alone in many of those struggles but sometimes it feels so intense and personal, I wonder if is just normal me or the anxiety talking. Anyway..... that topic is for another post.
I talked about feeling like I need to do do do, well maybe it should have read "who I feel i should be". Because I like to do things WITH people. I love it!! It is the fun times when I can escape my own thoughts. I keep myself busy, but not too busy where I feel like life is out of control. For instance, my mornings, which were fairly unscheduled, have become very scheduled the last month.
My non-member neighbor friend, Maria, has wanted a running partner (for the muddy dash 5k we will be participating in) so I offered to go with her. Problem is that she is basically a single mom to 5 children 8 and under. Her husband comes home from work for just a few days every 2 weeks. I don't envy her life! I was happy to get out and actually exercise but she can only go 2-3 times a week at 9:40am. Kinda smack dab in the middle of my morning! It can make it hard sometimes but I need to motivation to run and she really enjoys the break. It is kind of fun to talk about gospel topics sometimes too, to have missionary opportunities in happy valley. I run Monday and Thursday mornings- not much time for anything else before I have to get Brigg off to school. I also do laundry/ clean house on this day.
Tuesday morning is playgroup. Once every 4 weeks it is at my house, otherwise I'm running errands with Maren. Tues. nights is Young Womens.
Wednesday is Kallie's dance class, carpool, changing books for the home readers, carpool again, etc.
Thursday is running.
Friday is basketball. Ha ha, I never thought I would be playing basketball with a bunch of moms and grandmas! So fun! I was told about the basketball group 1 1/2 years ago but it was a little hectic at that time. It works out in my life right now so it has been fun to get out of my comfort zone, play a sport I'm klutzy doing, and get to know complete strangers! It is a group of random women in the stake and a few in the surrounding cities. They also play on Tuesdays but that is playgroup day.
If I ever want to do anything on a different morning, such as a playdate, I have to eliminate either running or basketball. Kinda crazy! But for now it is good.
On April 8th, all of my best friends from highschool, minus Shalon, got together at Kahri's house for a little reunion! It was so fun! Shalon lives in Colorado and just had her 5th baby (finally a boy!) a few weeks ago so she couldn't come, party pooper! ;) We met at Kahri's beautiful house in Layton. Mindy was in town from Hobbs, NM. We talked about a gazillion things. I was reading my journal a month ago about life and all the drama us girls were in/ made for ourselves. How far we have all come! I hope we keep up the tradition of getting together every year until we are wearing dentures and using walkers.
That following Saturday night, we went to Rynell's concert with the Timpanogos Symphony and Orchestra. It was an amazing performance! It has been fun to see Rynell play and it gets us out and makes me feel cultured. :) I also lost my voice that night and didn't fully recover for over a week! I had been super sick previously that week. Blah!
This last week was spring break.
We went bowling with the Westras and Nuffers:
sorry, I took these pictures with my phone.
We played and were lazy:

We went to the park and had a picnic and went up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down the slide.

We also got ice cream another day with the Westras and Nuffers, went to the mall play place, did lots and lots of chores, played and played with friends (while mom did yard work), ate lots of food, went to McDonalds with Koren and kids, and slept in until 9:30am one day!! Yikes!!
I guess the kids (and Me!) were worn out. Kallie even fell asleep in an awkward position on me at the computer.

Saturday was a Stott family get together. We got together with my cousins and aunts and uncles whom I rarely see. We did an Easter egg hunt and lunch. It was great fun! It made me really miss my grandma. My grandpa too, but mostly my grandma. I wonder if she was there that day.

That night was a rare date night. We got a babysitter and had a night on the town with our friends Derek and Heather Hansen. We didn't have much planned and couldn't decide on where to go! We finally decided on Carrabas (yum!). The worse part was deciding what activity to do. Bowling was out because of Heather's back, mini golfing was vetoed, there weren't any super fantastic movies worth paying for, and other things were sold out. We decided to walk the riverwoods. We checked out the new (no, not NUDE!) Provo Beach Resort. Pretty awesome place! We didn't do anything there but they have a lot of variety! We went to Blickenstaff's, listened to a local band, looked at STRIP malls for dessert, and ate more food (Los Hermanos fried ice cream). It was a very laid back, fun date out!

And finally to end this LARGE blog post, I'm trying desperately to start a garden despite the crazy, uncooperative weather! I still need a place to plant these babies. But at least I started!! My lofty ambitions at a larger garden isn't going smoothly but I am putting up the effort. Hopefully there will be a dry day to actually haul in dirt and prepare my yard for growing something other than rocks!
