A day at the Zoo

We FINALLY made it to the zoo after wanting to go all summer and really trying to go for the last 2 months. It has been rainy, cold or a booked day every weekend for that last long while. We picked a crazy day to go. It was the Saturday before Halloween so the zoo was doing their Halloween day. It was really a zoo! Everyone decided to take their 10 kids, distant relatives and Aunt Bertha to the zoo. There were trick-or-treat booths all around the zoo where kids could get candy and gift certificates. The kids must have mentally unstable parents, however, because they all sat in lines for hours just to get the candy/ prizes! I could not believe it. It worked for us because the animal viewing areas weren't as crowded and we just laughed at the other people waiting for a lollipop while we saw the animals. We had a great time and Kanoba loved it. Below are a few pictures for your viewing enjoyment.

Yes, this is a white alligator- called "The Ghost of the Bayou". The white alligators were just discovered in 1987!

We couldn't keep Kanoba still to take a decent picture.

I had to get a picture of us on the train because I have one of my brother and me on the train when I was 5-ish. Unfortunately the girl taking the picture only got half of Kanoba.

  2. PS does this mean that the white alligator is still there? I thought he was leaving a month or two ago. If so, I really need to take my kids right away....
I am glad you had a good time!
