The Dirty Dash 5K

Two words to describe this race: utterly awesome!! I'm signing up for this race again next year, fo 'sho! I don't like the feeling of being muddy, but it didn't matter during this race. AWESOME!
We had a team called The Dirty Banditos. We all wore bandanas. It consisted of Koby and I, Eric Parker from High School, and neighbors Katie Patten and Jeremy and Maria Finestad. We were supposed to have Alicia and Shane Westra run it too, but Shane had a church boy's camp to go to, and Alicia went and got pregnant. Humph. Eric took one of the empty spots and one of Alicia W's friends took the other, but she became sick and had to back out. Jeremy jumped in at the last moment and joined us!

And the race begins!

There was deep, gooey mud and obstacles everywhere. It was NOT a 5k either, more like a 4 something miler! But oh so fun! We had to climb over multiple bales of hay, climb over sheer wooden fences, crawl through pipes, run through stinky Deer Creek Resevoir marshland, run tires, slide/ run down the longest slip-in-slide (really) and jump in a mud hole. It was such fun.

I tried 2 different times to get Koby to fall in the mud. I couldn't do it. Next time!
