It has been awhile since I posted but I don't know exactly what to post about. So here are some random thoughts of mine.
Thanksgiving is just one week and one day away! I can't believe it. I love this time of year and the weather has been so warm that it is hard to believe Thanksgiving is so soon.
I had a wonderful weekend. Koby cleaned the bathroom (which I DETEST) which included the toilet, bathtub, cleaning the floor on hands and knees, and unclogging my sink. :) Oh, and he also did the dishes. He is awesome! Unclogging the sink alone would have made me hurl. Then he watched Kanoba from 2 until 9 PM while I went to a baby shower and bridal shower. I love him!
Sunday we had dinner with his family to celebrate his mom's birthday. We had lettuce wraps, spicy rice, fruit salad, triple chocolate cake and ice cream, and oatmeal scotchies. Mmmmmmm..... And fun conversations. It was heavenly.
I have discovered Spumoni ice cream at my local grocery store. I love eating this at the Spaghetti Factory where it is even more delicious, but this substitute will do.
I finished my first ever quilt!! It is everything I wanted it to be. I had lots of help from my wonderful mother-in-law who is an expert quilter. She did the machine quilting on her machine and I "supervised". I got the idea from here. My SIL Rynell is doing a queen size quilt which is an undertaking I hope to be capable of someday. For now I figure this quilt will give me a few more brownie points as an LDS woman. I can check that one off. Now I need to sew some curtains, be more crafty, have dinners ready in the freezer for a needy neighbor, and have my house spic and span. Then I will be a real Mormon wife. :) Ok, so that is not what I think is expected of LDS women and I am being sarcastic, but I admire those women that have those skills. I do plan on trying to make the curtains though.
I had another Dr. appointment yesterday. And yes, this baby has turned yet once again. I think she heard my inner thoughts and when I finally got myself all mentally prepared to have this baby the "normal" way, she flipped the very next day. I'd give her little bottom a swat but that is now hiding from me down in the nether regions. Now we are back to square one and deciding on a c-section date. Dr. Parker is pushing for the Friday after Thanksgiving (Just one week and 2 days!) but he has to schmooze the hospital and convince them that their holiday staff wants to do the c-section. (What else are they going to do? Eat bon bons and watch reruns of Little House on the Prairie? Come on, we have babies who need to say hello to the world!) If not Friday then I am scheduled for Monday the 26th. I give her that long to change her mind and flip around again. I am sure she wasn't comfortable head down because I sure wasn't! Her body was all on the right side of me and I felt sometimes like I had a constant side ache. Oh, and her one week of being head down didn't do a thing to my cervix. She is breaking all the labor and delivery rules! There are rules, right?
Well I think that is enough randomness for now. I am sure I will think of more things as I am driving for 6 hours tomorrow round trip to pick up my Grandma Pat in Brigham City and take her with me to my cousin's wedding in South Jordan and then back to her place and then my pregnant body and 2 year old home again. I'm not looking forward to the driving bit, but it will be a good day.
She is already fickle...just as any girl should be.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is a very beautiful quilt! I love pink and green together.
I can't believe she turned again! I hope it works out that you can get the Friday after Thanksgiving for the c-section. Oh and the quilt is pretty, I bet it's even prettier up close! Good job:)
ReplyDeleteTwo things:
ReplyDelete1. I LOVE spumoni ice cream, too. I didn't know Dreyers made it, so I better check it out.
2. Way to go Koby for cleaning the bathroom. Can he suggest the same to John?
That quilt is so cute! It'll be perfect for you little girl! It was fun to see you on Saturday. Good luck with the delivery.
