Too Busy to Blog

Why is it that all the books you have on hold at the library become available within 3 days of each other?? Here are the books that I have checked out to read (all previously on hold), by top priority first:

1. The Host- Shannon Meyer (I have to read this now because if I just get back on the waiting list, I will be like number 1,983) I also only have 2 wks. to read it opposed to the 3 wks. they normally give you.

2. The Secret Life of Bees- Sue Monk Kidd. I already started this and am more than half way through. Now it is waiting for me until I finish The Host.

3. The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands- Dr. Laura. I also already started this but it is a good pick up/ put down book. Easy to get right back into it and not a "can't put down" kinda book.

4. Crossing to Safety- Wallace Stegner. Haven't started it, may not get to it. My hope is that I can renew it and then read it. I am too honest though- the librarian didn't actually check out the book to me. I got home and kept getting calls to come get my book on hold. It wasn't on my account. I could have had this book forever and had time to read it, but instead I told on myself and they checked it out to me.

5. The Joy Luck Club- Amy Tan. This is the third day and I just got my notice saying this is available for me to pick up. You think I can do it? Read 5 books (some of them long) in 3 weeks?? I am kinda thinking not. Oh, I could do it, but my house would be a wreck and my children dead from starvation and neglect. I'd probably be husbandless too. If I was a fast reader.... Oh well, I canceled my hold.

For the next 3 weeks you can find me in the corner reading my books and throwing a crumb or two to the kids.

  1. Wow! Your 'on hold' books are coming more frequently than mine. I requested a bunch, only one comes up about every week or so.

    Happy reading!
