Death and Taxes

My two worst fears. Ok, so really death (of loved ones) is my worst fear, but I still despise taxes. My house is a wreck and I just realized that at this late of night when I want to crawl into bed, my sheets are wet in the washer. But my part of taxes is over. Now Koby gets to go to our appointment with our accountant tomorrow to get things figured out because it is all a confusing mess. I guess that is what you get when have your own business. I had to go through 2008 and itemize our expenses which is a tedious chore but I am very grateful to have an appointment- our accountant has been working insane hours but was able to somehow fit us in to his schedule. We were planning on getting an extension on our taxes since they are a mess and need a lot of time, but he said he can do it! Yay for great accountants!

Just to make me feel better despite the dirty dishes lining my kitchen counters and the toys strewn around the house and the laundry piled all over, here are a few things I DID accomplish today.

1. Taxes

2. Brigg played with a friend at our house. I don't always listen to his requests to have a friend come over.

3. Did manage to get a few loads of laundry washed and dried. It is piled up to be folded.

4. Cleaned up 123.2 messes Kallie managed to make including the dirt all over the office (from a dead plant in the garbage), dumped garbage cans, water all over the bathroom, multiple (as in 97.4) messes in the kitchen from throwing food and apple juice all over every time she ate, toilet paper in every room, changing her outfits a few times, giving her a bath two times, marker and dirt on hands, washing her face many times, uh.... you get the point.

5. Attended small personalized lesson on fruit tree pruning from my amazing neighbor (who got her college degree in horticulture or something like that). She gave me a lot of advice on my yard: Tear it all down and start over. Koby couldn't agree more.

6. Survived a no nap day from Brigg.

7. Survived at least 3 mother-of-all-tantrums from Kallie. I wished I had them on tape. She is a drama queen and one lasted at least 20 minutes.

8. Showered

9. Ate Easter candy. Didn't satisfy but it was chocolate.

Ok, I feel better. Sometimes you feel like you didn't accomplish anything but when you list it out, you realize you did do a few things, even if it was surviving. I survived today.

  1. What a day. You got a lot more accomplished than I did!

I just remembered I need to mail my taxes. They've been done, but not in the mail. Thanks!

(Sorry your taxes are so complicated... it's a bummer.)

  2. Wow, what a day! I don't think we will ever do our own taxes again- accountants are totally worth it!
PS. I want to see a clip of a Kallie tantrum! I think kids tantrums are hilarious- unless it's my own kids!
