Birthday/ Girl's night out weekend

I have been playing basketball with a group of women 1-2 times a week for a little over a year. We call ourselves the Basketball Chicks. I'm so glad I found them! I have really grown to love these women and I'm so thankful for the diversity and wisdom they have. They inspire me.

We have been doing Wellness Challenges as a group where we set 4 goals a week during an 8-10 week period. We get points for the goals we complete and the goals can be anything we want to work on, physically, spiritually, mentally, socially, or anything. My goals range from regarding my scripture study or writing in my journal (even blogging) to being nicer to my kids to eating/ exercising. Whatever I want to focus on but I have to account to the basketball chicks. If we meet our group goal, we reward ourselves by going out on a girl's night. We had already done two of these but we ramped it up for our last one. An overnight stay at the Marriott in downtown SLC!! It happened to occur on my birthday so it was like a huge birthday party celebration for me.

We carpooled up to SLC at 3pm on Friday. We settled in, played games, explored the hotel,

Our hotel right next door to the Gallivan Center

More exploring,

Ate at The Olive Garden (Felilia, Rina, Brandelyn, Kelly, Chirley, me, Shelley, Christie)

The waiters sang Happy Birthday to me

Did pedicures

and face masks,

pillow talk and pillow fights

went to the pool/ hot tub,

went ice skating,

And then we packed up and went home. It was a FUN weekend. The women sang happy birthday to me at midnight and they were so fun to be with on my birthday. Felila is always keeping it interesting by asking us get-to-know you questions all the time and sharing funny stories. I can't wait until the next wellness challenge! Hawaii! At least that is in our dreams. Felila is from Hawaii and has discounts through the army.... maybe?

I came home to a happy family, a triple chocolate cake from Sis. Doughtery and lots of love. Turning 31 was SO much more fun than 30.
