We went to Tracy Aviary in July with our friends Pam and Michael. It was free day with our pass of all passes. We had been going with Pam and other friends to Seven Peaks but we wanted to try the Tracy Aviary out. It was a blast! The kids a good time looking at all the different birds.
As a side story, I had hurt by back a week or so before this day, but as I was putting Michael's car seat in the Tahoe, I tweaked by back and had immediate, horrible pain. I thought it would go away so I got in the car and we headed to Salt Lake City. I got out of the car and I knew something was really wrong but I didn't feel like I could tell Pam and the kids we had to go home after going all that way. So for 4 hours I walked/ limped around the aviary, in horrible pain, not being able to stand well or sit well. I got home and my body instantly gave out. I laid in bed and could not move. I couldn't stand up or go anywhere. Koby had to haul me to the bathroom while I screamed in pain. It was the worst back pain I have ever felt. I was that way for awhile and was bedridden for a day until I could get to the chiropractor. He helped but it wasn't fixed by any means. I went and saw him 3 times a week for a bit and it always helped, but I was still limping around and in lots of pain. After a few weeks of this, the chiropractor (Koby's cousin Eric) took an x-ray and verified that it was what we thought- my hip was displaced at a 10 and the pain threshold is a 5 so I would be in pain until we could get it down below a five, better at 0. I couldn't believe it how long it took to heal. It was more than 3 weeks. I had to ice and heat a lot, rest, and be careful. I had a lot of help though and family and friends came and took my kids out to play and I had several days of lying on the couch watching movies. I had a lot of sympathy for people who have chronic back pain. It was horrendous! Some prescription pain pills helped and moving- even thought that hurt. I was so worried that our Disneyland trip would be ruined by my hip/ back pain and I even had a really bad day right before we left, but I actually think all the walking we did helped it. I didn't have much problem and I consider it a complete miracle. Heavenly Father really blessed me and he knew how much that trip meant to me. I'm very grateful.
