WICKED!

Thanks to my wonderful husband, friends and family, I was able to leave my kids at home and fly to Boise, Idaho to see my best friend from childhood Janele Payne. We have been friends since for 22 years!!! I hadn't seen her for five years so it was a visit that needed to happen for a long time. I flew into Boise on Thursday, May 5 (Happy Cinco de Mayo!) and picked me up at the airport. Yes, my wheelchair bound friend can drive and it is incredible! I'm so happy and proud of her for pushing past opposition in order to give herself that freedom. :)

Her parents babysat her two youngest children and we picked up her oldest, Emmalynne who is 7 and headed to the play. We stopped and picked up some lunch as well. We had some crazy driving experiences as we didn't know quite where to go and the annoying one way streets! But we made it with plenty of time to spare. We even got prime handicapped parking (although it wasn't really prime... but close to the theater!)

Waiting for the show to begin

We had amazing seats. Right in the center and in the front middle. Janele and Emmalynne knew all the songs but I had heard only a few. Since I didn't have any expectations of the play, it was fun and I had no idea how the play would end. It was amazing!!

After the play, we picked up Janele's boys and headed to Red Robin. We had a few funny experiences along the way but we finally got our food and it was delicious!! Janele's kids are really cute and adorable. I think she is in trouble when they are teenagers.

We went home and hung out and went to bed.

The next morning we had Janele's famous strawberries and waffles (minus the whip cream we forgot to get at the store the night before). I then helped her with a few chores around the house. Janele is again superwoman keeping a house, 3 kids and a dog in order by herself. I helped with a few things that are hard to do in a wheelchair such as mop the floor and clean the cramped kids bathroom. Her kids are so good and help out a lot too. I can barely get my kids to pick up their rooms much less anything else!!

Anyhow, we talked and hung our some more until I had to leave for my flight home. I was kicking myself for not planning a longer trip but at the time I booked it, I had already used a lot of my brownie points with Koby by taking my skiing lessons. Oh well. I will just have to make another trip out to Boise to see Janele sooner than 5 years! Or maybe I can convince her to come to Utah sometime. :)

Thanks Janele for the awesome trip!
