And... the rest of June

Summer is too crazy and I'm not blogging enough. I end up with posts of all pictures and events in our lives and none of the day to day stuff. I need to get through June so I can get to July so I can get to August. Before August ends. Here is a short recap of the rest of June in pictures:

Wearing out the kids

Our rose arbor went crazy this year. They are probably crying out for mercy after we pulled up the 8 rose bushes from our front flower bed.

Girls Camp! I missed the first 2 days but was able to make Wed.-Fri. It was quite the experience! It was so fun to get to know the girls and leaders better and it was such a spiritual high! It was very different from what I expected. It was very interesting seeing it from a leader perspective with dramatic girls, leaders who were tired and grumpy as well as disappearing in the middle of the night! I didn't ever get to bed before 1am and that was because the leaders were up talking or because we were searching for a lost leader who happened to go home without telling anyone (crazy issues with her husband!). I also cried a lot about good and bad. Crazy experience but I loved it so much!

I'm dreading the day I get a different calling. I have learned to love all the girls and leaders I serve with. It was also fun to go to camp where I went to camp as a young woman. I still remember the first time we came to camp at Aspen Lakes. All we had were some primitive camps and latrines. Now they have nice camps, showers and flushing toilets, obstacle courses, canoes, several lakes, a super nice pavilion, volleyball, etc.

We also got to see Rynell play with the Timpanogos Symphony and Orchestra. I think they are marvelous. Rynell is playing the bass . Jenny Oaks Baker performed as well and she is amazing.

This 90 something year old had always wanted to conduct a specific number and they let him do so, it was very inspiring! Dreams do come true at any age.

We also organized a neighborhood yardsale- 7 families participated. We didn't sell as much as we wanted but we made a little extra cash. We didn't sell our table at the time but we got a new one that I hope to refinish this fall. We have 6 whole matching chairs too! It has been too long using our folding chairs. We kept the table in the family and now Andy and Rynell have it. :)

A few other highlights:
* watching Dixie for the Lewis family. I love having a dog for a week or two a year and then giving her back. The kids LOVE it.
* kallie's gymnastics. I will blog about it in the next post.
* Skylar's baptism. I can't remember if I blogged about his sealing to his family in Manti. Two wonderful events all within a month!
