Our Government is going to pot...

This is my first and last "political" post. I try and become "educated" on issues and candidates, but it can be a hard task. I don't trust what the media tells me so I watch the debates to see what candidates tell me. But then I don't really trust them because I figure they are just telling people what they want to hear. So it is all a mass of confusion for me. Well, I am breaking my political silence to tell you one person I am NOT voting for. And if he gets elected, I will have no faith in democracy or "the people" again.

So we got our voter information packet in the mail recently containing who is running for what office, etc. Koby was browsing it when he said "You have got to be kidding me". I checked it out and we couldn't believe what we saw. Now you probably will only know the guy if you live or have ever lived in Utah. He became famous with his crazy, loud comercials for his computer company Totally Awesome Computers. I think our government is going to ruins (and Utah citizens are insane) if they vote for "SUPERDELL" (he likes his nickname in all caps) Dell Schanze for Governor. What??? Is this a joke? But I guess it is a free country and anyone can run for office. Here is an excerpt from Wikipedia on his "campaign":
"In his 2008 run for Governor of Utah on the Libertarian ticket, Schanze recorded an auto-dial phone message that his supporters used to reach 2,500 voters a day which called Utah's current governor, Jon Huntsman Jr. an "anti-Christ socialist" and states that his Democrat opponent Bob Springmeyer "doesn't care about the constitution." Schanze later recorded a "toned down" version of the ad."

Here is more from the voter info packet that he wrote:

"There is no question that Dell Schanze is different. There are only 3 people on the ballot and SUPERDELL is the only one that is NOT socialist. If you are unsure then fill you heart with love, completely open your mind and pray to God earnestly. You can't afford to get this wrong and will be held accountable for you choice." (emphasis added)

What?? It just blows me away. What's more is that supposedly he was on an LDS forum and he made some very odd statements. You can read it here if you are bored or want to be flabbergasted. If you can't tell, I get a kick out of it too. Nothing personally against the guy, but he just does not belong in governor's office, much less making ANY decisions that affect me or my family. I'll be laughing about this one for awhile.

Now on to Obama and McCain.... oh, just kidding! Not even going to go there. I think I need to first go "fill (my) heart with love, completely open (my) mind and pray to God earnestly" before I decide who to vote for on this one.

  4. The real concern with Superdell is not that people will actually vote for him -- I am more afraid of his psycho crazy personality mixed with his computer skills and a potential rigging of the voting...now that would be insane if he could pull that off.
