Changes

I was in survival mode last week since the time changed and my kids turned into insomniacs. I think we are back on nap schedule now so I can be a regular human being. It is really hard when Kallie's naps went to 11:30 and 4:30(!!) naps- but not taking one of those naps and then going to bed late and being grumpy and mean all in between. Brigg has been on and off with taking a nap or not, but I don't care about him as much. :) He just goes to bed earlier on the days he doesn't take a nap. I can also reason with him. Did any of you have troubles with the time change? I usually don't mind it too much, but this spring's time change was a doozy. Once Kallie takes only one nap, I wouldn't mind keeping them up a little later and getting them to sleep in a little later during the summer. But for right now I am enjoying the earlier bedtime and earlier rising.

My doctor's appointment last Friday went well and I have an ultrasound scheduled for Friday the 27th. Wahoo! I can't wait. I really debated whether we should wait to find out the baby's gender until delivery time, just to have a little fun, but I don't think I can wait. I'm too impatient and I think Koby wants to know as well. Besides, I can barely pick a name in 9 months, much less the 24 hrs. I will probably stay at the hospital. Way too much pressure. The poll is still open on the right, but it ends on the 27th. :)

I'm really loving the spring weather. We have been playing outside almost everyday. I'm getting nervous about the summer and being out in my front yard with Kallie. I will be a huge whale with a crazy daughter who is an amazing speed racer down our street. I have to run in order to catch her. If she even gets a chance to set foot out front, she is off down the street, screaming and laughing. She knows she isn't supposed to. (I asked the pediatrician if there is any way to get her to understand "no" and he said not til 19 months. I don't believe it. She is CONSTANTLY getting into mischief and giggles and laughs because she knows what she is doing.) Anyhow, I guess I will get a good pregnancy workout.

This same little girl with gap teeth now has a small chip in her top tooth. All because of an incident like above. I was pruning the rose bushes and she ran down to a neighbor's house and fell in the flower bed- probably hitting her tooth on the cement border. The poor little tooth is slightly bruised too. I thought girls were supposed to be calmer than boys. Can you blame me for almost wanting another boy this time? :)

Change is brewing in the air. It is kind of nice because change can't be all bad.
* My family size is slowly changing.
* Changes are happening at Koby's work- positive or negative is to be determined.
* We get to be at the temple on Friday when our neighbor goes through it for the first time and then get sealed to his wife. Koby is going to missionary discussion with a young couple in our ward- he is nonmember, she is inactive. Koby is also running 3 times a week with another inactive member in our ward (for Joy, it is Sid- Caressa's husband!). It is really fun to see Koby in action in the ward and community. It keeps him really busy but I think he really enjoys it.
* We are also planning summer family reunions and vacations. It is so nice to have fun family things to look forward to.
* My body is turning from thin, toned, athletic and sexy (ha ha!) to lumpy, bumpy, pimply, mass of squishy goodness.
* My flowers are blooming.
*Brigg may be attending his first organized sports classes- soccor and swimming lessons. He is so excited.
* My house is turning from pretty nice when we bought it to holes in the walls, stains on the carpets, scratches on the furniture, marker on the rugs, bedding, tables, walls, clothes and bodies, and other sights of mass destruction.

Life is good and I feel very blessed. I think spring in general has that affect on me- change and new experiences are coming. Even trials seem like a time to grow.

  2. Thanks Liz! I actually think they will end up being good changes. Koby is starting work today for someone else, but I think it will be good.

  3. I love your post about spring and change. It made me look back at all the changes that have happened throughout this year alone! Seems like we have hit a plateau for a few months but I'm sure that will soon change too.
