I just love, love the reaction. :)
I wanted to do the same thing with my parents but Brigg loudly spilled the beans at Christmas dinner, before we opened presents. It was pretty funny though. My brother just happened to mention that we needed to have more kids blah blah blah and Brigg proclaimed that there is a baby brother in my tummy. Everyone couldn't believe it at first because Brigg was so matter of fact- and he is a kid and likes to talk. Brigg is very excited to say the least and says he loves the baby. We will see if he is correct on the gender. He was right with Kallie.
I went to my 1st doctor's appointment on Jan. 14th and we heard a heart beat so I guess it is real, I'm not imagining symptoms. They have the due date down for Aug. 11th. Happy Birthday Koby! Hee hee. I'm getting pay back for saying I did not want to ever be big and pregnant in the hot summer. :) I need to shut my mouth.
So there is that. This was one of the things on my mounting list of things needed and expenses. We are excited and a little nervous to be having 3 kids, especially 3 under 4 years old. People have kids that close together all the time, but I was thinking I would have Brigg headed to Kindergarten by the time we had another munchkin. :) The funny thing is that I felt that the next one would be closer in age to Kallie, but I didn't think this close and I didn't plan for it to be that way. But the Lord works in mysterious ways! On my health history sheet at the doctor's office it asked if we had problems with birth control. I put It didn't work. Humm.
We are looking at bigger vehicles now, smaller car seats to fit in my Maxima, how we are going to set up the bedrooms and who will be sleeping with who, and saving up for hospital and doctor bills. I think having 3 kids is just as busy as preparing for the first child. Whew! At least I dont have to worry about the clothes and play toys. And I won't be running the SLC 1/2 marathon that I wanted to run. We will just have all our kids birthed and raised sooner. :)
Let's just hope this pregnancy isn't as dramatic as the last one.
I am OVER THE MOON excited for you!!!! Chris keeps talking about having a third, but I'm with you - it requires a lot of lifestyle shifts. I'm fairly confident that you cannot fit three car-seats in the back of a Civic, for starters. Have you thought of bunk beds for Brigg & Kallie?? They have cheap ones at IKEA that could work for a while, and I think they even break down to two separate beds. I dream of bunk beds. I am such a nerd.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm really looking forward to your call. As you may have noticed, I am minorly/majorly obsessed with talking about childbirth. August 11th, hmm??? Oh man, how I'd love to be around! I may end up in Utah this summer, so we'll have to get together one way or another. I hope you're feeling well... early pregnancy is crazy!!!
I love the pic!!! Your grandparents rock my socks.
yay for you! I hope Brigg is right! Boys are fun. Then again, little Kallie is one of the cutest things I have ever seen. I hope you're not too sick this go around. Call me!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I am so excited for you guys! The thought of three is a little daunting. Mikey says it is a scary switch from man-on-man defense to zone defense (love the sports analogy). We will now be out numbered!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! How fun. love love love the pic. of your grandparents. So fun!
ReplyDeleteYou will be awesome with three kids!
ReplyDeleteThe switch from one easy baby to one easy toddler and one really difficult baby is what pushed me over the edge. So, you could say life has been chaos for us since #2. I've just learned that chaos is here to stay. And lowering the bar increases helps me survive and enjoy it.
Thanks everyone for you well wishes! Just to clarify, those are Koby's parents, Brigg and Kallies grandparents. :) Both koby and my grandparents are all dead, except I have one step grandmother alive. So THEY are getting their 21st grandchild. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, hopefully we will want more than 3 kids :)- we'll see how this next one is and what kind of temperament. Regardless, I am hoping to have a little longer stretch between #3 and #4.
The picture says it all! When you called me I was jumping up and down I was so excited! I didn't even do that for any of my Christmas presents, and I got some pretty cool presents. Yeah, 3 is harder then 2. That's one of the reasons why we are taking a little "break" before #4
